Dérive Drift @ Uroboros

Come May 13, 2020, one of my favourite care-full creatures Kat Braybrooke and I will be launching DÉRIVE DRIFT: ⛵️⛵️⛵️ Uroboros Edition! 🐍🏰.

The Uroboros design-art festival calls for works that engage critically, experimentally, and materially with our troubling global conditions to actuate a positive change.

Uroboros Festival will be an online event this year in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. All accepted projects will be live-streamed during the event period (May 13-16, 2020), and will be archived and made public after.

Our project, Dérive Drift, is a playful short-form contest rooted in an evocative exploration of memory palaces far and near through creative spatial engagement. While psychogeographic and Situationist approaches have typically examined the terrains of the cities we move through, in response to COVID-19 limitations we’re inviting you (and the trusted others you are isolated with!) to creatively drift through more intimate terrains with us – your spaces of care, escape, solitude, refuge, and more – and reflect on how the words we think with and shape our worlds through may be associated with the many histories that surround, enrich or oppress us.

We are offering €100 to one lucky Drifter who produces the most poetic and thought-provoking work, to aid in the development of future creative rendezvous in other spaces and places.

Stay tuned for our announcement / presentation at the start of Uroboros & come drift with us!
